The General Assembly of the IFI unanimously confirmed full membership status to APID at the 2009 IFI General assembly held at The Grand Hyatt Convention Center in Dubai.
APID is the only Association member of the IFI from the Middle East.

APID representative and IFI Board member Professor Albert Fakhoury attended the IFI Executive Board Meeting in Mexico. The city signed the adoption of the IFI Declaration in a prestigious event held at the City Hall with the presence of the General Secretary of the States of Mexico and the Mayor of Guadalajara.
